Marchioro Kevin 82 Cage for Small Animals
This is our top pick due to its large dimensions, reasonable price, and suitability for both dwarf and Syrian hamsters.
The Marchioro Kevin 82 cage measures 32.25″ L x 20″ W x 14.25″ H. At 645 square inches, this is almost double of the minimum recommended amount of floor space. The gaps between the bars are about 1/4 inches, making this a suitable cage for both Syrian and dwarf hamsters.
The cage accessories included are a wheel, two platforms, two food dishes, a hideout and hamster tubes that connect both platforms. The included wheel has a solid surface and is approximately 6.25 inches, suitable for dwarf hamsters but too small for Syrians. If you’re looking to get this cage for a Syrian hamster, you’ll definitely want to get a larger wheel.
The cage is well-ventilated and has a large door for easy access to your hamster. The wire top is also removable so cage cleaning is not too much of a hassle.
Savic Hamster Heaven Metro
The Savic Hamster Heaven Metro 31.5″ L x 19.6″ W x 19.6″ H and has approximately 617.4 square inches of floor space. It is a suitable cage for Syrian hamsters but not dwarf hamsters due to its larger bar spacing.
The cage comes with many accessories, including a long hamster tube, two platforms, two slides, two feeding bowls, a 5oz water bottle, a large wheel with a stand, two hideouts, and a toilet. Like the Kevin 82, this cage has a large door for easy access to your hamster, and can be easily cleaned by removing the wired top.
However, Savic hamster cages are from the UK, so this is a lot more expensive to ship than the Kevin 82. You can check its full price here on Amazon.
Super Pet CritterTrail Discovery Deluxe Habitat
The Crittertrail Discovery Deluxe Habitat measures 15.75 x 23.5 x 12.75 and is approximately 370 square inches. This cage may not meet the minimum floor space of 360 square inches if you take the inner measurements of the cage. While it isn’t as huge as the other two cages featured above, this cage is expandable with Crittertrail accessories and can be connected to a second cage or even a DIY bin cage. The cage is suitable for both Syrian and dwarf hamsters.
The accessories included with this cage are a water bottle, a wheel, a food dish, and a removable petting zone. The included wheel, however, is too small for Syrian hamsters so remember to get a separate wheel if you’re purchasing this for a Syrian. The cage can easily be assembled and disassembled for cleaning.
This cage has the most budget-friendly price compared to the other two and is popular with kids because it’s expandable with other accessories. Check its full price here on Amazon.
